1929: The name, "Pathfinder", is first
used at a summer camp in Southeastern California.
1969: Maranatha Flights International
began when John Freeman of Berrien Springs, Michigan, took 28 volunteers to
Freeport, Grand Bahamas, to complete the Eight Mile Rock Church. Maranatha
Volunteers International became the name in 1989 after a merger with
Volunteers International.
October 1, 1971: Adventist World Radio
airs its first broadcasts in 10 languages for 12 hours a week, after the
Church purchased program time on Radio Trans-Europe in Sines, Portugal.
